Groove wagon is now bio-fuelled
In the build up to the Isle of Wight festival we took the oppurtunity to get in a quick session in Somerset to tighten our groove nuts and get out set in tip top shape for the big occasion. While we were there we took a quick trip to see Diesel Dan over at BioSulis in Radstock, which is just round the corner from our studio. He provided us with 50 litres of his finest ex-veggie oil, bio-diesel for our trip down to the island this week.
Dan’s process takes waste vegetable oil from fast food restaurants, caterers and bakeries and converts every single drop into bio-diesel with minimal waste. The bio-diesel is almost carbon neutral and can be used in any standard diesel engine, with the only side effect being a chip shop smell coming out of our exhaust! Equally important is that the bio-diesel is cheaper than regular, fossil diesel, at just over £1 per litre rather than +£1.20. We’re also helping to support a local industry rather than the evil likes of Shell/Esso/BP…..
Makes sense really!!
As our preparations for this weekend continued we all realised that every guitar lead we own will be far to short for the Isle of Wight stage and in a moment of panic we quickly made some orders for extra long leads, strings and speaker cables ready for the big day.
