Last weekend we spent a few days in a cottage in the middle of nowhere, writing and rehearsing songs for the Dorset Music Awards Semi Final. The weekend was eventful to say the least, the weather was freezing (-9) and on the way up the biodiesel in the van turned to jelly, leaving Si and Ben stuck with the van on the side of the road. After being rescued by the AA, they managed to make their way to the cottage in time to set up. During a break we braved the snow, went outside, made a little fire and played an acoustic cover of a track that has just been released on Mark Lanegan’s new album, “Blues Funeral“.
In true Yellowgroove style, it’s become quite a folky, acoustic twist on the original and we had fun playing it so we thought we’d share it with you…
You might be aware that we’re in the Dorset Music Awards competition, organised by Devil’s Music and in January we successfully progressed through to the quarter finals.
