Yellowgroove @ The Joiners

We’ve recovered from our intense R’n’R period and got back into the groove last Wednesday night with an interview and unplugged session on Bournemouth’s local radio station, Hope FM. The session also included an exclusive preview of our final masters for the upcoming EP The Somerset Sessions, which will be available to download from our website from Monday. For gig-goers who purchase a copy of our debut single, you will receive the digital EP download for FREE! Hoorah!

In case you missed the radio interview, it did clash with Eastenders after all, we will be making the whole hour available to download, also for free, from our website. Stay tuned for that. Free stuff on free stuff.

Our leap back onto the live stage begins this Saturday at Eastleigh Recreation Ground, where we will be performing at the Young Persons day, for, er, young people. We’ll be bolting off in a cloud of Transit van dust shortly after to go and do some more recording in Somerset, but we will be back in time to entertain fresh freshers at Southampton University on Monday, for RAGfest.

There are plenty of other gigs booked up for the autumn-winter period, so if the fall of leaves is starting to get you down, take a look at our gigs page or myspace to check the listings, come down and see us, and get your wee hands on our debut EP!

New Music, Upcoming Dates and R’N'R (The bad type)….

Wednesday, August 19th, 2009

Our thanks go out to all those who came down the Joiners on Saturday night for a great night of music. The free tasters of the Somerset Session EP were snapped up so eagerly that we completely ran out. However, you can now hear three new tracks from the EP in the music section or on our myspace page.

The Somerset Session EP will be available to download before the end of August, so keep checking back for more updates. The track-listing is confirmed.

1. Shoot You Down
2. These Times
3. Fading Out
4. Blood On The Flag

We are very sorry to say we are taking a few weeks off for the less good type of R’N'R. In our down time we will be working on even more new material that we all hope we can debut very soon and maybe release in another new EP. There are new dates for September and October in the gigs section including another show at the Hobbit.

Yellowgroove @ The Goldhawk

Yellowgroove @ The Goldhawk

Well, the very Yellow weekend went amazingly well. It was even extended by a day thanks to a last minute bit of organisation (and fortune), putting Yellowgroove on the bill at a small venue in Shepherd’s Bush called the Goldhawk. This was YG’s first London outing and it was such a success that the promoter has offered a further two dates in the city. More pics from this night

Friday night was another corker! It was YG’s second date at the Hobbit, a great little venue in the heart of Southampton’s studentville. In comparison to their previous performance in the cosy place, the band were all healthy and flu free! The guys played an hour long set to room that was so packed that many people were left standing in the corridor trying to fight their way in. Look out for Yellowgroove appearing at the Hobbit again very soon! Many thanks go out to Jason Petrou who took some great pictures of the night.

Eastleigh Music Festival

Eastleigh Music Festival

On Saturday afternoon Yellowgroove played the mainstage of the Eastleigh music festival to headline the free section of the festival day. The typically British July afternoon (rainy and grey) seemed to slightly deter the crowds from this great event however, the stage was fortunately sited under a large big-top. The crowd were soon aroused by the set. Emma Richards took this stunning set of photos.

Guestlingbury music festival was next on the schedule however, this small, family run event had unfortunately been over-run by festival goers. They estimated that over 2,000 people had turned up on the Friday night and when compared to the couple of hundred the previous year, the event couldn’t cope and was understandably cancelled.

Overall, a fantastic weekend was had by all and many thanks go out to all of those who came to support or were involved in the organisation and logistics. More Yellow events will be on their way soon!
