Unfortunately, we had a poor response from the Judges at the regional final last weekend, probably due to Ben’s coldsore ruining our band image. Although we were slightly disappointed we didn’t get through to the UK final, we enjoyed ourselves a lot and had a great evening.

The Isle of Wight was indeed triple awesome. We played out of our skins friday night, had a great response from a great crowd, we also did a bunch of interviews over the weekend. More news to follow about that and everything else…

I got home really late last night, fell asleep on the last ferry and almost got stuck on it all night (with the van and all the equipment!)

Yellowgroove @ The Joiners

We’ve recovered from our intense R’n’R period and got back into the groove last Wednesday night with an interview and unplugged session on Bournemouth’s local radio station, Hope FM. The session also included an exclusive preview of our final masters for the upcoming EP The Somerset Sessions, which will be available to download from our website from Monday. For gig-goers who purchase a copy of our debut single, you will receive the digital EP download for FREE! Hoorah!

In case you missed the radio interview, it did clash with Eastenders after all, we will be making the whole hour available to download, also for free, from our website. Stay tuned for that. Free stuff on free stuff.

Our leap back onto the live stage begins this Saturday at Eastleigh Recreation Ground, where we will be performing at the Young Persons day, for, er, young people. We’ll be bolting off in a cloud of Transit van dust shortly after to go and do some more recording in Somerset, but we will be back in time to entertain fresh freshers at Southampton University on Monday, for RAGfest.

There are plenty of other gigs booked up for the autumn-winter period, so if the fall of leaves is starting to get you down, take a look at our gigs page or myspace to check the listings, come down and see us, and get your wee hands on our debut EP!

The Somerset Session EP will be available to download before the end of August, so keep checking back for more updates. The track-listing is confirmed.

We are very sorry to say we are taking a few weeks off for the less good type of R’N'R. In our down time we will be working on even more new material that we all hope we can debut very soon and maybe release in another new EP. There are new dates for September and October in the gigs section including another show at the Hobbit.

As an incentive to tempt you lovely folk down to the depths of St. Marys this weekend, we will be giving away a free taster CD of our forthcoming EP entitled the “Somerset Sessions”. The EP will also feature two brand new songs and will be available in full very soon!
In the mean time, come down to the Joiners this Saturday for some great music. We’ll see you there…..

Saturday 7th February 2009 saw us all jump in Mark’s fiesta and truck on up to London. We were on Tim Shaw’s show late on Saturday night on his feature called “You’re banned!”. This is a part of his show where he allows an unsigned band to play for as long as the audience let them. We did fairly well and are now 3rd on the overall leaderboard for the competition. Thanks to those of you who listened on the night. If you missed us, you can hear it again here
