src="http://www.yellowgroove.co.uk/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif?bb7ee4" alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> . The speed limits are weird, the history is epic and the rocks and cliffs remind me of Troy or Brad Pitt or something. It all began on…

Thursday

With a smell of fish & chips in the air and Ecstasy of Gold ringing in our ears we were off on our way to Jersey! Jack nursed his seasick girlfriend, Ben drank Jon Smiths (there was no other option) while Simon read “The Accidental Death of an Anarchist”. Nuff said.

Friday

In the morning we spluttered along to a BBC Radio Jersey interview, with a couple of unplugged tracks which should be aired sometime this week – we’ll let you know. In the evening our first gig at Watersplash, (or vomitsplash in the toilets) great bands, and throw backs to another time. A great night was had by all, and the sound provided by the Pirate Party Brigade was awesome. Chilling out pre-gig to the sound of waves thundering against the walls of the venue rather than the beeping of cars was a nice change.

Saturday

We let our hair down – even further. Marks Jerseyite family, much wine and a big backline created a beautiful atmosphere. Playing with a brass triad was also a great experience.

Sunday

Rudely awoken by a Piano Riff at 7:30 am, to beautiful blues cloudless skies on Sunday morning was cruel and kind at the same time. After a triple strength coffee we were off to the Seaside festival to unload the gear. Sunday was going to be big one, 3 gigs in 1 day.

First gig was exactly like the last time we played outside at Gabe’s party – it started to rain. But unlike last time, Hero Wanted didn’t unload the skies completely with it’s tribal drums, but actually fought the rain off for a short time. I say short, because it pelted down in between the break and our second set, so we never got to play for a second time. Alas! We didn’t have much time to wail our loss, because our gear had to be transported to the Ha’Penny for our next gig.

A 2 hour set at the end of the weekend required copious amounts of energy drinks and coffee. Sponsored by caffeine, the set went on 33.3% longer than usual.

All in all, on the boat back, we had a great time. I laid down and listened to soundtracks from Gladiator, Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly…feeling great, then we return to the Chaos hitting the UK…

Gigs, interviews and Cider Apples…

News

Eastleigh

gig

Live

radio

Somerset Sessions

Yellowgroove
<guid
