Obviously, promo photos were high on the list of priorities for the release of San Francisco Bay and as Summer rolled into Autumn, and the green leaves crumpled to brown, the window of opportunity for good weather shots became ever smaller. So with some urgency, we went out in the recent heat wave to get some good beach photos.

However, as we were soon to learn, trying to look cool and nonchalant can somewhat distract you from your surroundings, and the perilous sea…

Don’t forget, our debut single comes out on Monday 24th October from all good online music shops. Also, for the grooviest party this October come down to see us at our release party on Saturday 22nd October at Champions in Bournemouth for the annual Oxjam Bournemouth Takeover! The Oxjam Bournemouth Takeover will feature 34 local artists performing at 6 venues over the whole day, with this year’s aim of raising in excess of £8,000. Advance tickets are just £5 and are available here up until midnight on 21 Oct. These will be exchanged on the Takeover day (at 60 Million Postcards from midday) for a wristband, which will allow you entry into all six venues. Wristbands can also be purchased on the day at any venue for £6.

We will be playing at Champions at around 10pm and doors open at 7pm.

San Francisco Bay Single Launch Party to Raise Money for OXFAM

If you haven’t heard already, our first official single, San Francisco Bay is going to be released later this month! As of Monday 24th October, San Francisco Bay will be available on all good online record stores (iTunes, Amazon, Spotify etc). All single releases need a great launch party and we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than by combining it with our gig at the Oxjam Bournemouth Takeover Festival on Saturday 22nd October in Champions. As a special fundraising promotion for that night only, if you donate some money to Oxfam into our YG collecting buckets, you will get a copy of San Francisco Bay for FREE!

In the week leading up to the release party and Oxjam, Ben and Simon will be roaming the streets of Bournemouth with their newly formed G-Team (like the A-Team but more groovey) spreading the sounds of YG and collecting money for Oxfam along the way. Keep an eye out for them!

San Francisco Bay Official Release Countdown!

Finally! We’re officially releasing San Francisco Bay, our first proper single and number one of three tracks that we recorded with the Animal Farm nearly a year ago! Yeah we know, it’s about time. Rumour has it that the single release party is going to be at the Oxjam Bournemouth Takeover on Saturday 22nd October…. We’ll keep you posted!

The release date for the track is Monday 24th October, just a few weeks from now (and the anniversary of when we started recording). Over the next three weeks we’re going to be sharing a series of videos with you delving deep into the workings of Yellowgroove, in the studio behind the scenes and a making of the video errr video. What more could you want?!

We’ll start off with a short clip of Ben and Simon enjoying a lovely English, summer day where they’re attempting to re-enact a famous scene from the history of rock’n roll……

Our thanks go out to all those who came down the Joiners on Saturday night for a great night of music. The free tasters of the Somerset Session EP were snapped up so eagerly that we completely ran out. However, you can now hear three new tracks from the EP in the music section or on our myspace page.

We are very sorry to say we are taking a few weeks off for the less good type of R’N'R. In our down time we will be working on even more new material that we all hope we can debut very soon and maybe release in another new EP. Yellowgroove’s first single is set for pre-release on Friday 13th March with the official release in the not too distant future. The AA side single features the title track ‘Son of a Working Man’ and ‘Hero Wanted’. It will be available as a limited edition CD and digital download, but you can hear it now at our myspace
