Also, for the grooviest party this October come down to see us at our release party on Saturday 22nd October at Champions in Bournemouth for the annual Oxjam Bournemouth Takeover! The Oxjam Bournemouth Takeover will feature 34 local artists performing at 6 venues over the whole day, with this year’s aim of raising in excess of £8,000. Advance tickets are just £5 and are available here up until midnight on 21 Oct. These will be exchanged on the Takeover day (at 60 Million Postcards from midday) for a wristband, which will allow you entry into all six venues. Wristbands can also be purchased on the day at any venue for £6.

We will be playing at Champions at around 10pm and doors open at 7pm.

The release date for the track is Monday 24th October, just a few weeks from now (and the anniversary of when we started recording). Over the next three weeks we’re going to be sharing a series of videos with you delving deep into the workings of Yellowgroove, in the studio behind the scenes and a making of the video errr video. What more could you want?!

We are so very pleased to announce that this weekend we will be returning to Jersey to play a host of shows all over the island! We are going to be playing 6 times in the space of 3 days, and on 4 of those occasions you’ll be able to see us for FREE!

Our last trip to the island (homeplace of Mark and Ben) was way back in February this year. We had such a great time that we jumped at the chance to go back when the sun was shining.

Just like our last trip, we’ll be blogging our activities and misadventures over the weekend. So for those of you that can’t make it, you’ll be right in the thick of it, albeit from the comfort of your own home!

The Watersplash

This place conjures too many frankly worrying memories for Ben & Mark as it’s somewhere the both spent many Saturday nights growing up…. so to be playing at the ‘Splash is a big treat. Sunday 7th August

Seaside Festival

Not once but twice we will be taking to the main stage at the Jersey Seaside Festival and bringing the yellow! Hopefully the sun will help us out to and make them sets to remember. We’ll be on the Havre Des Pas, Bandstand stage for an hour at both 3:00 & 6:00 pm. The whole day is a free event with loads of beach related activities (Ben’s hoping for beach volleyball ), food stands, beer tents and lots of bands. Come on down and join in the fun! Ha’penny Bridge

We weren’t satisfied with playing twice in one day, so we are going be heading off to the Ha’penny Bridge at the Weighbridge to play a 2hr set at 8pm. You might catch a glimpse of us running across town to make it there in time! and yes! it’s another free gig!! For more info, click here.

There will be blood and blisters on our fingers!! In between this time of sweaty gigging we’ll be recording an interview on BBC Radio Jersey with Ryan Morrison, which will be aired on the BBC introducing show next week. Stay tuned for an update and iPlayer link!

With our forthcoming single, San Francisco Bay, we’ve tried to capture that with our first ever official music video.

There were days when cloud interrupted our filming, changing clothes on the beach was actually a cold experience (I haven’t worn shorts yet this year!) and of course the moment I got hit by an unexpected wave before we’d started filming.

In truth, we absolutely couldn’t have done it without the help of some really great people. Thanks to Osama and Ahmed, for running around and keeping our spirits up, thanks to Bihter for telling Ben what to do most of the time, thanks to Gamze for the lunchtime salads, thanks to Jon and Liam for stepping in at the last minute when we needed more footage, thanks to Lucy for driving, and thanks to Cigdem for being the star.

As some of you may know, we’ve just been in London recording our first set of singles with The Animal Farm at their studio. We thought we’d show you what we really got up to, like what happens when Jack continuously gets up at 7 am and audibly goes to the toilet several times in the morning waking everyone else up…or when Simon has too much coffee and shouts out on the streets of Camden “We’re gonna kill someone!”…ahem.

Over the coming weeks we’ll be putting up various videos and insights, but for now check out the new gallery on our website, “Recording October 2010“, to see us at work and play, then comment on how stupidly attention seeking a certain member of the band is.

Yellowgroove

Unfortunately, we had a poor response from the Judges at the regional final last weekend, probably due to Ben’s coldsore ruining our band image. Although we were slightly disappointed we didn’t get through to the UK final, we enjoyed ourselves a lot and had a great evening.

The Isle of Wight was indeed triple awesome. We played out of our skins friday night, had a great response from a great crowd, we also did a bunch of interviews over the weekend. More news to follow about that and everything else…

I got home really late last night, fell asleep on the last ferry and almost got stuck on it all night (with the van and all the equipment!)
